A very lazy recording with animal samples, parts that are reminiscent of Yosi Horikawa, some real thumpy classic Four Tet bass drums, and so on. At 44:41 it is surprisingly long for today’s era of short-ass music and I found it pleasant to listen to while doing laundry and also contemplating how best to marinate chicken.

I don’t think there are any remarkable tracks in this recording: and that’s how I like it. Subtle, reliable, consistent, and with a bit of production value behind it.

Released exclusively under 1999 Text Recordings, this recording is an absolute beaut and I look forward to reviewing more Four Tet deep cuts.

Track 4 is so chaotic, in a classic in-your-face cheeky style reminiscent of the early works of Richard D James. It is the only track that sticks out, not in a good or bad way.

Overall a 10/10.
