Despite appalling service and expensive drinks at the Fairmont Hotel, Felipe’s set was rejuvenating in it’s eclecticity and varied selection. A wide selection of both celebrated classics and new age tunes brought forth an energetic dynamic in that left the audience in good spirits. Utilizing a wide array of pedals and a step sequencer, this talent harks to that of Dub FX and The Pixies. We received a pleasant cover of tunes by Billie Eilish, Halsey & Khalid, and presumably Felipe’s original work. A cover of Feel Good Inc left me feeling good and remembering the era in which coherent music is created. Overall I would say that the experience is a decent template for live music at any of the city’s 263 outdoor patios introduced this year.
