Proof that voice is its own instrument. Somber and solemn soundscapes with production that builds on the thinner concepts of her earlier album Watch This Liquid Pour Itself. A fully realised album that is thick and rich like gravy, while keeping true to the stripped back sound that Okay Kaya is so good at. See track “Squish” for something light, and see “Baked Bean” if you need something with a bit more girth.
This is the second album that the artist has dropped this year and while some may think it is a quarantine project, one listen will show that these are ideas that have been knocking about for some time. That is to say, this is not rushed and is by no means meaningless.
Meaning is the objective experience.
